Chatham-Kent police have taken a massive amount of drugs off the streets of Blenheim.
According to police, a team of officers searched a short-term rental home on Erie Shore Drive and a rented vehicle just after 7 p.m. last Thursday.
During the search, police seized what they say is more than $500,000 of fentanyl, $42,000 of cocaine, about $2,000 in cash, a conductive energy weapon, and drug paraphernalia.
A 27-year-old from Burnaby, B.C. was arrested and charged with two counts of possessing drugs for the purpose of trafficking and unauthorized possession of prohibited weapon.
Following a bail hearing, the man was remanded into custody and taken to the Southwest Regional Detention Centre. His next court date is scheduled for September 11.
