Police investigating serious motorcycle crash outside of Dresden
Chatham-Kent police are investigating a motorcycle crash just north of Dresden that landed a Wallaceburg man in a Windsor hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police said they were called to the scene of the crash on Croton Line between Irish School Road and Tramway Road shortly after 10 p.m. Monday, adding that they found a motorcycle in the ditch on the south side of Croton Line, but the driver wasn't there.
Officers later learned that the man who was operating the motorcycle had been picked up by some friends who then took him to the hospital.
Police said the 25-year-old Wallaceburg man was later transferred to a Windsor hospital for further treatment of his injuries.

Man jumps into the river in attempt to evade police
A 35-year-old Wallaceburg man is learning the hard way that the long arm of the law even reaches into the Sydenham River.
Chatham-Kent police said the man first got their attention when they saw him running into the backyard of a residence on Margaret Avenue near Murray Street in Wallaceburg at around 2:45 a.m. Tuesday.
Police said the man then jumped into the Sydenham River in an attempt to hide from officers.
He was later arrested for trespassing at night, at which point officers also learned that he was out on probation.
When police searched the man, they allegedly found a pair of knives on him along with a wallet that wasn't his and several other items.
Officers said some of his release conditions banned him from possessing any weapons or identification that wasn't in his name.
The accused was taken to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

Tilbury man arrested for indecent acts, unwanted contact
A 40-year-old man is facing a handful of charges after police were notified of a pair of indecent acts in Tilbury last week.
CK police said they were called to Canal Street in Tilbury at around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 5 and were told that the man had been engaging in "an act of self-stimulation" outside of the victim's residence.
Officers said their investigation showed that a similar incident had taken place in the past and that there was also some unwanted contact between the victim and the man recently.
Police found the man shortly after 6:15 p.m. on Monday and arrested him.
The 40-year-old Tilbury man was charged with two counts of criminal harassment, two counts of committing an indecent act, and one count of failing to comply with a probation order.
He was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man accused of threatening employees in Chatham
A 28-year-old Chatham-Kent man is charged with uttering threats after an incident at a business on St. Clair Street near McNaughton Avenue in Chatham.
Police said they were called to the business shortly after 9:30 p.m. Sunday and learned that the man got into an argument with the employees before he allegedly threatened to hurt them.
He was arrested, charged, and taken to police headquarters before he was released with conditions and a future court date.
