Al-Janabi is wanted for possession of a prohibited weapon and three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
According to police, the vehicle search stemmed from an arrest on July 30, 2024 when an officer on patrol stopped a vehicle on King Street East near Adelaide Street South in Chatham and arrested a woman who gave police a Quebec driver’s license that was determined to be fake.
A valid Ontario driver’s license with a photo correctly identifying the woman was found during a search when she was apprehended, police said.
A large amount of currency and scales were also seen inside the vehicle at that time, according to police.
Police noted the vehicle was towed after the July 30 traffic stop and the woman was charged with obstructing an officer, possessing a forged document with intent, and using a forged document.
The court released the suspect on bail with conditions and a future court appearance of September 6, 2024.
Police are asking the public to not approach or interact with Al-Janabi as she may be considered dangerous and members of the public have no authority to detain the individual.
If you know where she is, call Chatham-Kent Police at 911 or 519-352-1234, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information leading to the arrest may be eligible for a cash reward.
