Wanted man turns himself in at CK police headquarters
A 33-year-old Sarnia man who was wanted by police for contacting someone he had been ordered to stay away from is finally ready to face the music.
Chatham-Kent police say the man was released from custody in June 2023 with conditions that required him to stop contacting a specific person.
Officers learned that the man was breaching that condition by reaching out to the person via social media, though, so police went looking for him and obtained a warrant for his arrest when they couldn't track him down.
The man showed up at CK police headquarters at around 10:15 a.m. on Thursday and was arrested there.
He is facing two counts of failing to comply with a release order and was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.
