Trio Arrested for Bail Violations

A traffic stop has led to the arrest of a Chatham woman who allegedly broke her bail conditions.

Chatham-Kent police said the 32-year-old woman from Chatham was bound by certain bail conditions as a result of two impaired driving charges.

She was taken into custody on Wednesday afternoon when officers stopped a vehicle in the area of Thames Street in Chatham. The woman was found to be driving the vehicle, which breached her release conditions, police said.

She was arrested for failing to comply with her bail conditions and driving while under suspension.

Meanwhile, a man and a woman, both from Tilbury, have been charged for allegedly breaking the man's court orders.

Police said the 39-year-old Tilbury man was charged in late June after an intimate partner violence investigation.

He was released from custody a month ago with several court conditions, including not communicating or associating with his ex-partner, a 33-year-old Tilbury woman, or attending her address, police said.

He was also to remain in his own home between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. every day.

Police reported they received information early in the morning on Thursday that the male suspect was at his ex-partner's residence where he was not supposed to attend.

According to police, officers found the man hiding in the home and charged him with two counts of failing to comply with his bail conditions.

The 33-year-old Tilbury woman was also charged with facilitating a breach.
