Cyclist airlifted to London after serious crash
A cyclist from New York is in critical condition after crashing on Charing Cross Road between Drury Line and Fourteenth Line.
Chatham-Kent police say a group of four cyclists was riding single file around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday when the lead cyclist hit gravel and lost control of the bike. The rider fell and sustained serious injuries.
The 71-year-old woman was taken to hospital by EMS, but was then airlifted to a London hospital by Ornage air ambulance.

Man arrested for failing to attend court
Chatham-Kent police arrested a man on O'Neil Line in Howard Township on Wednesday night on an outstanding warrant.
The 23-year-old was wanted for failing to attend court in relation to a November 2022 sexual assault investigation.
He was arrested and taken to police headquarters and after a bail hearing, was released with a court date in August.

Man arrested on a warrant
A 32-year-old Ridgetown man is in custody after a surety relief warrant was issued for failing to comply with the conditions of his release.
Chatham-Kent police arrested the man yesterday afternoon on Talbot Trail.
He is currently facing numerous charges, including robbery, possession of a weapon, possession of counterfeit money, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
After a bail hearing, the man was remanded into custody until his next court appearance on Monday, and was transported to the Southwest Regional Detention Centre.

Woman arrested for theft
A Chatham woman has been charged with theft and possession of stolen property.
Police were called to Second St. in Chatham early Thursday morning to investigate suspicious activity.
Officers arrived to find the woman hiding behind a display at the corner of King St. and Second St.
She was wanted on an outstanding warrant and was arrested. She was released with a future court date.

Construction Fraud Warning
Chatham-Kent police are warning about construction fraud in the area.
They reported on Thursday that they have received multiple complaints in Chatham about people hiring a man for work, paying a deposit, but he never returns to complete the job.
Police are asking victims of this type of fraud within Chatham-Kent to contact them at 519-352-1234.
