Man charged after ex-girlfriend is hit by vehicle

CK police arrested a 64-year-old Chatham man after he allegedly hit his former girlfriend with his vehicle.

Police said they received an emergency call just before 11 p.m. on Monday about a case of intimate partner violence.

According to police, officers learned that the man was transferring property from his vehicle into the vehicle of his former partner when he suddenly took off. Officers said that when he drove off the man hit his ex.

The victim was transported to hospital where it was determined that injuries to her legs were superficial.

The man is facing charges of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm and failing to stop at an accident resulting in bodily harm.

Chatham man faces multiple assault charges

Chatham-Kent police have charged a Chatham man with assault, assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, and uttering threats.

Officers said they began an investigation at around 6 p.m. Monday following a call about domestic violence.

"Officers learned the man had attempted to assault and threatened his former wife's life," police said.

A 37-year-old Chatham man was arrested and held at police headquarters pending a bail hearing.

Police investigating tool theft

Chatham-Kent police were called to a West Street address in Chatham regarding some missing tools.

Police said that sometime over the last couple of days an unknown suspect(s) entered a detached garage in the area and stole approximately $1,000 worth of Milwaukee and Stihl construction tools.

Multiple arrests made on warrants

CK police have made a dent in their wanted list, as officers have made a number of arrests on outstanding warrants.

At about 2:15 p.m. on Monday police arrested a 21-year-old Chatham woman in connection to an aggravated assault investigation.

The woman was taken to police headquarters following her arrest. She was later released with a future court date of August 19.

A 34-year-old Chatham man who was wanted in relation to an intimate partner violence investigation was arrested Monday morning.

The man was held at police headquarters pending a bail hearing. After the hearing, he was taken to the Southwest Regional Detention Center until his next court appearance on August 6.

A Chatham teen was arrested Monday afternoon after an accidental call to police.

Around 3:30 p.m., police received an emergency call in the area of Oxley Drive in Chatham. When officers arrived to check on the caller's welfare a 19-year-old man wanted in connection to an intimate partner violence investigation as well as on a DNA warrant was arrested.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Monday, police picked up a 41-year-old Chatham man wanted in connection to a mischief investigation.

The man was taken to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Chatham-Kent police arrested a 39-year-old woman early Tuesday morning in connection with a theft investigation.

Police responded to a home in Chatham for an unrelated matter when they found the wanted woman.

She was arrested and later released with conditions and an August 12 court date.
