Chatham-Kent residents will be able to just keep swimming this summer with outdoor pools set to open on Tuesday, July 2.
Recreational swims will also be free all summer long at all seven outdoor and two indoor Municipal pools thanks to some generous sponsors.
"It's exciting to be able to offer a variety of free community programming to our residents of Chatham-Kent again this summer," said Manager of Recreation Services and Community Engagement, Amy Wadsworth.
Joining the fun will be the return of SummerFest, which includes activities for residents of all ages.
On Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., the CKRec Team will host "Party in the Park", which will have crafts, activities, and games. Parks vary each week and you can find a schedule of locations by clicking here.
Every Saturday starting July 6 to August 24, the Play Rangers will offer a drop-in program with games and activities designed for the whole family from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Kingston Park.
"It's a truck filled with a lot of fun equipment, so we can bring the fun to the people," said Wadsworth.
The Play Pod will also be in Erieau and Mitchell's Bay every Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
“We hope that families take advantage of these opportunities to get outside, have fun, and connect with their community," said Wadsworth.
