Man arrested on surety relief warrant
A 24-year-old Chatham man was arrested Monday afternoon while attending the Ontario Court of Justice.
According to police, the man was arrested in January for robbery, and released on bail with conditions. These included a surety, someone who promised to supervise the accused while on bail. When the surety decided to no longer participate, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Police said he was arrested at around 3:45 p.m. Monday and is currently being held pending a bail hearing and faces multiple charges including break-and-enter, possession of a weapon/firearm for a dangerous purpose and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Man arrested for failing to attend court
A Kingsville man turned himself in to police Monday morning after a warrant was issued for his arrest after failing to attend court.
According to police, the 23-year-old was originally arrested concerning a February 2023 impaired driving charge in Raleigh Township and he turned himself in shortly after 7:15 a.m. Monday.
He is currently facing charges for impaired driving and failure/refusal to comply with a demand.
