Accidental fire at Campbell Toyota

Damage is estimated at $100,000 after a vehicle went up in flames at a Chatham business.

Chatham-Kent Fire was called to Campbell Toyota on Richmond Street shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Thursday for a commercial fire alarm.

Crews from stations #1 and #2 in Chatham arrived to find smoke coming from the rear of the building.

Firefighters entered the facility and found it was full of smoke, and a vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.

Officials say the fire was quickly put out before it spread, and crews were able to clear the smoke out of the building.

No injuries were reported, and the cause is listed as accidental.
