This year's Smile Cookie Campaign raised a nice chunk of change for the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent.
The CTC Foundation recently received a cheque for $54,618 from cookies purchased at local Tim Hortons locations in Chatham, Wallaceburg, and Dresden.
The Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign supported charities in communities across the country from April 29-May 5, 2024.
The CTC Foundation was one of 550 Canadian charities, hospitals, and community programs supported through the annual campaign.
"This year's campaign saw community members and CTC staff come together to contribute their time and efforts, embodying the spirit of unity and generosity," said the CTC Foundation in a statement on Friday. "Over 150 volunteers from the community assisted with baking and decorating Smile Cookies at the Chatham Armoury kitchen."
CTC officials noted volunteers baked over 29,000 cookies during the seven day campaign.
"These contributions make a significant impact on the lives of children in our community with physical, developmental, or communication challenges. The Smile Cookie Campaign has been a significant event since its inception in 1996," said CTC officials. "Over the years, it has grown into a major community engagement and fundraising initiative for Tim Hortons, demonstrating the power of local businesses in making a difference."
The Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent provides quality care to thousands of children each year in the community who have physical, developmental or communication challenges.
