Two arrests for failing to attend court
Two Chatham men accused of skipping their scheduled court appearances have a new date to circle on the calendar.
Chatham-Kent police said they found the first man shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday in the area of St. Clair Street in Chatham while officers were following up on a separate matter.
Police confirmed that the 44-year-old Chatham man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court and he was arrested.
The second man turned himself in at police headquarters in Chatham shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday.
He was also wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Both of the men were later released with future court dates.

Police investigate garage break-in
Chatham-Kent police are asking for tips from the public as they investigate a break-in on Lisgar Street in Wallaceburg.
Police said they were notified of the incident shortly after 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, adding that it's believed the break-in took place sometime overnight on May 14.
Officers said whoever broke into the detached garage stole some tools.
