A flood outlook has been issued by the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority after a low pressure system came through Southwestern Ontario.
It said 30 to 45 millimeters of rain has fallen since Thursday.
"Due to the amount of precipitation received the ground is saturated leading to increased runoff. Water levels and flows have increased throughout the watershed and could spill in natural floodplain areas, parks and fields," the authority said.
Significant flooding is not expected at this time, however it said saturated soils could contribute to ponding, increased runoff and possible increased erosion and seepage issues.
Individuals are being reminded to avoid watercourses and flooded areas because of dangerous conditions, slippery banks and cold, swift moving water.
It is also being advised that children and pets are kept away from water.
