Teenage girl arrested for assault
A 16-year-old girl turned herself in to police following the investigation into a fight at a local high school.
On March 19, investigators began looking into a physical fight that occurred between students at Chatham-Kent Secondary School.
It was determined that one female youth assaulted and injured another female youth during the altercation.
Just before noon on Monday, the suspect went to police headquarters where she was charged with assault.
She was released with conditions and a court date of May 6.

Verbal argument leads to assault charges
Police have arrested a Chatham man after a verbal argument turned physical.
On Monday, at 4:01 p.m., officers responded to a College Street address in Chatham for an assault investigation.
Police learned that a verbal argument between a man and a woman on Saturday escalated into an assault which resulted in minor physical injuries to the woman.
A 35-year-old man has been charged with assault with a weapon, and two counts of assault.
He was released from police custody with conditions and a future court date.

Man arrested for breaching court ban on communicating with kids under 16
On Monday, Chatham-Kent police arrested a 42-year-old man for breaching a court order.
An investigation into the violation began on March 22, when officers learned that the man had been in contact with a person under the age of 16.
"The man was bound by a court order prohibiting him from being in the presence of or communicating with anyone under the age of 16 unless under supervision by a court approved person," police said in a release.
Following his arrest the Chatham man was taken to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing.

Chatham woman faces multiple charges following traffic complaint
A Chatham woman is facing charges of impaired driving, driving with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit, failing to comply with a release order, and driving with a suspended license.
Chatham-Kent police responded, just after 9:20 p.m. on Monday, to a traffic complaint on Longwoods Road of a vehicle heading east toward Thamesville.
When officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, they believed the driver was intoxicated.
During her arrest, it was found that the 53-year-old woman didn't have a valid driver's license and had a court order prohibiting her from occupying the driver's seat of a motor vehicle.
She was taken to the Ontario Provincial Police Service for tests and later released with conditions and a court date of April 22.

Woman arrested for vehicle theft
Chatham-Kent police responded to Longwoods Road early Tuesday morning for a stolen vehicle investigation.
At around 1:30 a.m., officers found the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, police said.
Investigators determined that the driver was a woman who was banned from driving and had taken the vehicle without consent.
The 44-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, and driving a vehicle while prohibited.

Man wanted in threats investigation arrested
At 8:20 p.m. on Monday, Chatham-Kent police found and arrested a man wanted in relation to a March 14 threats investigation.
The 35-year-old was located on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.
He was taken to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a May 6 court date.
The man currently faces the charge of uttering threats.

Man arrested in Windsor after missing Chatham court date
A 45-year-old Windsor man is facing an additional charge for not attending his court date in Chatham.
He was was scheduled to appear in court in relation to an investigation from February 2022.
The man arrested by Lakeshore Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) shortly after 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday and later transferred to Chatham-Kent police.
He is now facing charges of careless driving, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and failing to attend court.
