Roses for Rotary order deadline approaching

Time is running out to purchase a dozen roses in support of a local service club.

The deadline to order a bouquet of mixed red, orange, and yellow roses for $25 from the Rotary Club of Chatham Sunrise, is this Friday, March 22.

This is the 23rd year for Roses for Rotary, and all of the money raised stays local.

"We give to Outreach for Hunger, Victim Services, we're working with Special Olympics, we work with the municipality on parks and so many things," said President Glenn Smith. "If you buy roses from us, just in time for Easter, you will be helping the community."

The group has ordered 850 bouquets this year -- an increase from last year's total.

"Last year we sold 813, so we bumped it up to 850 just to push ourselves a bit more," said Smith.

Orders can then be picked up at the Portuguese Club on Grand Avenue in Chatham on Wednesday, March 27, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Smith added that they also deliver.

"It's free delivery to anywhere in the Chatham area, and I mean anywhere," said Smith. "Free delivery, you'll have personalized notes on it, whatever you want. We love to do it."

Orders can be placed online at www.rotarysunrise.com.
