Man accused of damaging doorbell arrested again for skipping court

A 28-year-old Chatham-Kent man who was already in trouble for damaging a doorbell and a window is facing another charge after he allegedly skipped his court date.

Police said the man was supposed to show up in court on February 26 after he was arrested for damaging a doorbell and a window at a property on Wellington Street in Chatham on January 20.

Officers said the man failed to show up for his scheduled court appearance, though, so a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Police found him on Grand Avenue in Chatham just after 3:20 a.m. Thursday and arrested him. He was later released with a future court date.
