Chatham-Kent police are thanking the public for their "cooperation and understanding" after officers closed down a section of Sheldon Avenue in Chatham for an active investigation.
Police issued a notice to the public just before 9 a.m. Wednesday to avoid the area of Sheldon Avenue and Cornhill Street because there was a heavy police presence in the area.
Officers issued an update just before 9:30 a.m. saying that an individual had been taken into custody and that the situation had been resolved peacefully.
The area is now safe for the public and police are thanking the public for their support.
