Parents with children at schools in Dresden will have to re-adjust their schedules next school year.
In a release on Monday, the Lambton-Kent District School Board said Lambton Kent Composite School (LKCS) and Dresden Area Central School (DACS) will be changing the school bell times for the 2024-2025 school year.
LKCS students will start school at 8:05 a.m. and be dismissed at 2:15 p.m., while DACS students will start school at 8 a.m. and be dismissed at 2:20 p.m.
"As part of this change for the community, the school bus service will also be converting to the K-12 integrated service model, wherein students attending both LKCS and DACS will ride together on shared bus routes servicing both schools," the release read.
What will be changing:
• Pickup and drop off times at the school will be aligned to the new bell times.
• The bus that students currently ride may change with the updated K-12 service and route updates.
• All buses will service both LKCS and DACS and therefore, student from K-12 will be riding each bus.
What will stay the same:
• DACS students will continue to have seating assignments planned at the front of the bus and seats at the rear of the bus will be open for LKCS students.
• Bus stop locations for all students will stay the same.
• There will be no substantial change to average riding times.
• Maximum bus loading parameters will remain the same.
