Boater locates vehicle reported stolen 14 years ago
Chatham-Kent police are giving credit to a boater for helping them track down a vehicle that was reported stolen from Sombra in 2010.
Officers said the boater was testing a fish finder on the Sydenham River in Wallaceburg and saw what appeared to be a vehicle on its roof in the river.
Police were called in just after 3 p.m. Saturday and responded to the boat docks at Wallace Street and Huron Street.
After seeing the image from the boater, officers called in the Ontario Provincial Police Dive Team to investigate.
Investigators said the vehicle was unoccupied.
