Dresden man arrested for violating multiple release conditions

A 32-year-old Dresden man is facing a handful of charges after police caught up with him during a traffic stop in Wallaceburg Sunday night.

Chatham-Kent police said the man was a passenger in a vehicle that an officer pulled over just before 9 p.m. Sunday.

During the investigation, the officer learned that the man was bound by several release orders and prohibition orders -- including conditions that banned him from possessing any weapons, ammunition, drugs, and drug-related equipment.

He also was supposed to be living at a specific address and wasn't allowed to leave that residence without his surety.

Despite all that, police said the man was not living at that address and was not with his surety when officers caught up with him.

Police said they also found some ammunition and some scales on the man when they searched him.

He was arrested, charged, and taken to police headquarters where he was set to be held pending a bail hearing.
