No injuries were reported after a corn field fire closed a section of the eastbound Highway 401 Sunday afternoon.
OPP closed the highway near West Lorne at Graham Road and County Road 76.
Fire Chief for the West Elgin fire department Jeff McArthur said approximately three kilometres of corn stalks were burned.
"High winds contributed to the fire spreading to the south ditch on Highway 401 near Dunborough Road," he said.
The West Elgin Fire Department had help from the OPP and the Dutton Dunwich Fire Department.
McArthur also said no crop was lost and there will not be a further investigation.
The highway has also been reopened.
