Wallaceburg man charged in Kingsville crash

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say a 24-year-old man is facing impaired driving charges following a single-vehicle crash in Kingsville over the long weekend.

Officers were called around 9:30 p.m. Sunday to County Road 29 at the 4th Concession Road and found a vehicle in a ditch.

When speaking with the driver, officers suspected that he was impaired and took him into custody. He was transported to the local OPP detachment for further testing.

The Wallaceburg resident is charged with operating while impaired, refusing to comply with a demand, driving with an open container, driving with liquor readily available, driving without a valid permit, and driving without insurance.

The charges have not been proven in court. The man was released from custody and will have a chance to respond to the charges in a Windsor court on February 29.
