Chatham man faces multiple charges after b-and-e

Chatham-Kent police responded to the report of a break-and-enter just after 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Officers learned that a man, armed with a knife, forced his way into a Delaware Avenue apartment and threatened the residents.

"The man fled the apartment when police were called," police said in a statement, adding that he was quickly found in the backyard of a nearby home.

During the arrest, police said they found suspected fentanyl and meth on the suspect.

A 42-year-old man faces six offences including multiple weapons and drugs charges.

Multiple outstanding warrant arrests made

Just after 7 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to Tim Horton’s on Third Street for a disturbance.

Once officers found the man, they confirmed that he was wanted on an outstanding warrant in connection to a May 2023 investigation.

A 58-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and charged with failing to attend court and mischief.

Officers on patrol in Wallaceburg spotted a wanted man just after 8 p.m. on Wallace Street.

Police determined that he was wanted for an investigation earlier in the week.

The 35-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with possession of counterfeit money and uttering counterfeit money.

He was released from police custody with a court date of March 11, 2024.

Drunken disturbance leads to arrest

A 25-year-old Bothwell man has been arrested for public intoxication.

Chatham-Kent police responded at around 5 a.m. Monday to a Peter Street South address in Bothwell for reports of a disturbance.

When officers arrived, the man was found in an intoxicated state, unable to take care of himself.

He was taken to police headquarters and held there until he sobered up.
