Woman arrested for impaired driving following crash

Chatham-Kent police responded to a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning.

Just after 1 a.m., officers arrived at the intersection of Bloomfield Road and Riverview Drive in Chatham.

No injuries were reported.

Police determined that a 23-year-old woman was driving while intoxicated by alcohol.

After further testing at Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters, officers found that the suspect had more than double the legal limit of alcohol in her system. She has been charged with drunk driving.

Duo ordered not to associate arrested for bail violations

A Wallaceburg woman and a Chatham man are facing new charges after being arrested for violating court conditions.

Just after 4 p.m. on Friday, an officer on patrol near Lacroix Street and Richmond Street spotted a man and woman walking together that he recognized from previous police involvement. The officer stopped the pair as they were under court orders not to associate with each other.

During their arrest police found a large quantity of drugs and cash.

A 27-year-old woman is facing five counts of failing to comply with her release order.

A 27-year-old man is facing six counts of failing to comply with his release order.

They were both charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance with the purpose of trafficking.

Man arrested on outstanding warrants

A Chatham man who was wanted on outstanding warrants was located by police early Saturday morning.

Police spotted the 32-year-old just before 3 a.m., in the area of Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.

The man was arrested on an outstanding warrant for trespassing at night, break and enter, and theft under $5000.

He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
