Animal remains found
Chatham-Kent police said that, at 2:03 p.m. on Sunday, they responded to a Lorne Avenue address where bones were found under a porch.
The bones were photographed and sent to an anthropologist, who determined they were animal remains.
Police are reminding residents that if you do find bones on your property, don't touch them or disturb the area. Report the discovery to the police as quickly as possible.

Man arrested following threat investigation
A 41-year-old Chatham man has been charged with two counts of uttering threats.
On December 13, 2023, police began investigating an incident at a Fifth Street address.
Officers determined that the suspect entered the building, despite not living there, and was approached by another individual. When confronted, the suspect reportedly made several threats against the other person.
Video surveillance allowed police to identify the suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On January 7, 2024, the man was located on King Street East in Chatham and arrested.
He was released from police custody with conditions and a February 12 court date.

Erratic driver arrested
On Sunday evening, Chatham-Kent police received reports of a vehicle driving erratically on Longwoods Road.
Police responded to the area and located the vehicle on McNaughton Avenue. Officers observed the same erratic behaviour and conducted a traffic stop.
After he performed a sobriety test, police determined that the driver was intoxicated and arrested him. The 39-year-old Chatham man was taken to police headquarters for further tests.
He was charged with impaired driving and released with a January 22 court date.

Police locate bail violator
Chatham-Kent police have located a man who has been dodging them since September.
On August 25, 2023, a Blenheim man was released by the court with conditions barring him from being outside his home between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. without his surety.
In early September, police were conducting a compliance check and found that the man was breaching his conditions. A warrant was issued for his arrest when he couldn't be located.
On Sunday, just before 7 a.m., police responded to a residence on Ingram Street in Chatham for an unrelated matter and found the man.
The 39-year-old was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a release order.

Multiple warrant arrests made
At 9:32 p.m. Sunday, Walpole Island Police Service found and arrested a man on an outstanding bench warrant for failing to attend court.
The 34-year-old Walpole Island man was issued a new court date of February 5, 2024, and released.

A man wanted on a Chatham-Kent warrant was found and arrested in Windsor.
At 4:23 a.m. Monday, Windsor police arrested a man wanted for failing to attend court. CK police were called in and fulfilled their warrant.
The 37-year-old man was later released with a new court date.
