Man wanted for assault arrested in Chatham

Chatham-Kent police have caught up with a 67-year-old Chatham man who was wanted in connection with an assault investigation going back to November of last year.

Police said they arrested him shortly after 12:30 p.m. Thursday on Grand Avenue West.

He was charged with uttering threats, assault with intent to resist arrest, assaulting a police officer, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The accused was taken to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Tip helps police track down wanted woman

A 46-year-old Thamesville woman who was wanted by police is back custody after local officers got a tip about where she was.

CK police said she was wanted for breaching her conditional sentence order and they found her on Grand Avenue West in Chatham after getting a tip shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday.

Police said she was arrested and was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Windsor man arrested for making unlawful visit in Ridgetown

A 49-year-old Windsor man is spending some more time in police custody after he allegedly showed up at an address in Ridgetown he had been ordered to stay away from.

Chatham-Kent police said they found the man at the front door of the residence after they got a call at 4:45 p.m. Thursday for a bail violation.

Officers said the man was charged with failing to comply with a release order and he was taken to police headquarters where he was set to be held pending a bail hearing.

Man wanted for shoplifting found during disturbance call in Thamesville

The law has come calling for a 41-year-old Howard Township man who was wanted by two different police services.

CK police said they found the man while they were following up on a disturbance call at a residential building in Thamesville just before 8:45 p.m. Thursday.

Officers said their investigation showed that the man was wanted by CK police in a shoplifting investigation and that he was also wanted on a warrant held by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

The man was arrested by CK police and charged with theft and possession of stolen property, then released to the OPP.
