Residents are now able to vote in one of Chatham-Kent's highly anticipated winter contests.
The 3rd annual Name a Snowplow contest is underway with 35 creative submissions in the running to be a part of the next fleet of snow plows to hit Chatham-Kent streets.
"Over the past two years, this contest has garnered remarkable success, with some of the selected names receiving recognition on a national platform during Hockey Night in Canada," read a statement from the municipality. "This recognition not only highlights the creativity and community spirit that thrives within our region but also underscores the significance of this annual event."
A total of six names, one for each of the municipality's wards, will be chosen. The six names with the highest votes will be the ones chosen for the six plows.
Some of this year’s submissions include Chicken Plow Mein, The Big LePlowski, Skip the Ditches, and Snowtorious B.I.G.
Residents can cast their votes online at the Let’s Talk Chatham-Kent website until December 3.
The names will be announced in a media release and “ribbon cutting.”
