A familiar face has been re-elected to serve as the chair of the Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) of Trustees.
Randy Campbell was re-elected during a board meeting on November 21.
Campbell has served as a trustee since 2006 and was first elected as board chair in 2020-2022.
“It is an exciting time to serve as a trustee for the Lambton Kent District School Board," said Campbell in a media release. “Though I don’t believe the year ahead will be free from challenges, I know that the work is of great importance, and I have confidence in this group of Trustees to come together and make decisions that support the LKDSB Mission, allowing for us to truly ‘foster success for every student, every day.’”
During the meeting, trustees also elected Kelley Robertson as vice chair.
Robertson was first elected to the board of trustees in 2022. She also serves on the Parent Involvement Committee and the Special Education Advisory Committee.
“I am very grateful for the support of my fellow trustees,” said Robertson. “I will continue to ensure that student success and well-being are top priority when it comes to all considerations made by the board. I also plan to focus on building confidence with the communities we serve through open and honest communication and transparent processes.”
Director of Education John Howitt said the board of trustees' role is to provide governance for the administration's operational work.
"I am very optimistic that with the support of Trustees, the efforts made by all LKDSB staff to support students in their learning and overall well-being will have a significant positive impact,” said Howitt.
