UPDATE: All crossings except the Rainbow Bridge reopened following explosion

The Rainbow Bridge in Niagara remains closed on both sides of the border, and motorists are advised that the bridge may be closed for some time.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), local, state, and federal law enforcement continue to investigate a vehicle explosion on the US side of the border crossing on Wednesday.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) reports that it is coordinating with the FBI during the investigation.

It's been confirmed that two people in the vehicle that exploded were declared dead at the scene.

As of 5 p.m., the Fort Erie Peace Bridge, Whirlpool Rapids Bridge, and the Queenston/Lewiston Bridge have all been reopened.

During a press conference, New York Governor Kathy Hochul assured that "at this time, there is no indication of a terrorist attack."
