Break and enter in Merlin
Chatham-Kent police are investigating a break-and-enter in Merlin.
Police said that an unknown suspect or suspects broke into a home sometime overnight causing $1,000 in damage.
Approximately $6,000 in tools and electronics have been reported missing.
According to police, the residents weren't at home at the time and the incident was captured by a home surveillance system.

Windsor man arrested in Chatham theft investigation
A Windsor resident was arrested yesterday in connection with a theft investigation in Chatham.
Police said that around 3:30 p.m. a Loss Prevention staff member of Canadian Tire attempted to place a shoplifter under arrest for theft.
"He was observed grabbing multiple items including a crowbar, mechanic gloves, long-handled bolt cutters, and a deadbolt lock," a police release read. "The man made his way to the garden center and attempted to throw the items on the other side of the fence," it added.
The Canadian Tire staff member contacted the police as they tried to make the arrest.
When officers arrived, the suspect attempted to flee. He was arrested after a short foot chase and held pending a bail hearing.

Stolen vehicle investigation
Chatham-Kent police are looking for information regarding a stolen truck in Bothwell.
Police say that just before 5 a.m. Friday a a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado truck, with a 12-foot trailer attached to it was taken from a residence in Bothwell.
The vehicle is described as a green two-ton pick-up truck, the trailer is from 2008 and was said to contain a jerry can of gas, and several tools.
The truck was last seen with an Ontario license plate 2502 VC, and the trailer's Ontario license plate reads E2273N.

Impaired driving charges laid
A man was charged with impaired driving following a two-vehicle collision in Harwich Township.
Police responded to the crash on Creek Road at around 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
The first officer on the scene determined that the man was driving his car while under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested.
All parties involved sustained minor injuries but did not need to be transported to the hospital.

Man arrested in Wallaceburg following domestic dispute
A man is facing a slew of charges following a domestic violence investigation.
According to police, around 11:45 p.m. the man went to his ex-partner's home while drunk and began to argue with her over access to their child.
Officers reported that the fight escalated the woman was assaulted. Another woman who attempted to intervene was also allegedly threatened and assaulted.
Before police arrived at the scene, the man fled from the home taking one of the women's cell phones with him.
Following an investigation, the man was located and arrested. He faces three counts of assault and charges of theft, possession of stolen property under $5,000, and uttering threats.
