Dresden woman wanted for more than a year arrested

The law has finally caught up to a 24-year-old Dresden woman who was wanted in connection with an assault investigation in May of last year.

Chatham-Kent police said their investigation started on May 28, 2022 when they received a report of an assault on St. George Street in Dresden.

Police said their investigation showed that a woman had confronted three victims about a "property-related issue."

Officers said while she was doing that, she allegedly threw several items at the victims, attempted to hit one of them, threatened to harm them, and threatened one of the victims with a knife.

Police tried to find her after they got that call, but they couldn't track her down, so they got a warrant for her arrest.

Officers finally caught up with her just after 10 a.m. on Monday and arrested her.

The woman was charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, one count of assault, one count of uttering threats, and one count of mischief.

She was taken to police headquarters and was later released with conditions and a future court date.
