Chatham Township man accused of grabbing someone's throat
A 58-year-old Chatham Township man will have to answer to an assault charge after he allegedly grabbed a man by the throat when they were arguing Sunday evening.
Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the scene on Timmins Crescent in Chatham just before 6 p.m. Sunday and arrested the man.
He was charged with assault causing bodily harm and was taken to police headquarters before he was released with conditions and a future court date.

Traffic complaint leads to impaired driving charge
A 37-year-old Chatham woman is facing an impaired driving charge after CK police followed up on a traffic complaint on Joseph Street in Chatham Sunday afternoon.
Officers said they pulled the vehicle over on Phyllis Avenue in Chatham at around 4:15 p.m. Sunday, arrested the driver, and took her back to police headquarters for breath tests because they believed she was driving under the influence of alcohol.
She was charged and later released with conditions and a future court date.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Call about suspicious parking spot leads police to stolen vehicle
A call about a pickup truck that was parked in the middle of the road in Wallaceburg overnight led police to a stolen vehicle and a suspect.
CK police said they received a call at around 2:15 a.m. Monday about a pickup truck was parked in the middle of Bruce Street, adding that the vehicle left before officers arrived.
Police were able to follow up on some information about where it was seen heading, though, and found the vehicle parked behind a business on Nelson Avenue.
Officers said they found a man a short distance away and arrested him. They also confirmed that the vehicle was reported stolen.
A 39-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with possession of stolen property and he was later released with a future court date.
Police said the vehicle was also returned to its rightful owner.
