Tilbury teen charged after allegedly assaulting his mom, punching a TV
A 17-year-old Tilbury youth spent some time in police custody over the weekend after he allegedly kicked his mom during an argument on Sunday.
Chatham-Kent police said they were called to an address in Tilbury just after 11 p.m. Sunday and learned that a teenage boy had been arguing with his mother when there was "a struggle over a cell phone."
Police said the mother fell to the ground and that's when the youth allegedly kicked her.
Officers said the teen is also accused of breaking a TV by punching it.
A 17-year-old Tilbury boy was arrested and charged with assault and mischief.
The teen was taken to police headquarters and was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Police report finding cocaine on man accused of knifepoint robbery
A 36-year-old man is facing a handful of charges after he allegedly robbed someone in Chatham at knifepoint.
CK police said they were called to investigate that report at just after 4 a.m. Monday and learned that the victim was at a friend's home when a man confronted them.
Police said the man was allegedly holding a knife while he demanded that the victim empty his pockets and hand over whatever he had.
Officers said they were able to find the man accused of robbery at his residence and arrested him.
When police were searching him, they also allegedly found some suspected cocaine on him and confirmed that he was bound by a release order that banned him from having any weapons.
The 36-year-old Chatham man was charged with robbery, failing to comply with a release order, and drug possession.
He was taken to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

Heating and cooling units damaged at Chatham Banquet and Conference Centre
Chatham-Kent police are asking for tips from the public after someone caused some "significant damage" to some heating and cooling units attached to a banquet and event hall in Chatham.
Officers said the units attached to a building at 280 Merritt Avenue in Chatham were damaged sometime between October 19 and October 21.

Merlin man booked for assault, theft
A 55-year-old Merlin man is facing a pair of charges after Chatham-Kent police were called to a business in the Tilbury-area for an assault investigation.
Police said they were called to the business in Tilbury East Township at around 12:20 p.m. Sunday and learned that two men had been arguing when one of the men allegedly hit the other.
Officers said their investigation also led them to charge the alleged assailant with theft.
The accused was arrested, charged, and taken to police headquarters. He was later released with conditions and a future court date.
