Chatham youth arrested for alleged assault
A 15-year-old Chatham girl is facing an assault charge after she allegedly hit someone in the face during an argument.
Chatham-Kent police said they arrested the teen after they were called to Fifth Street in Chatham just after 3:30 p.m. Sunday for an assault investigation.
Police said they learned that the youth had been arguing with the victim and allegedly hit the victim in the face after she was asked to leave.
Officers said the victim suffered "a minor injury" and police were able to find the youth in a neighbouring unit.
She was arrested, charged with assault, and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Impaired driver stopped by officer after hitting the curb
A 31-year-old Chatham woman is facing an impaired driving charge after an officer spotted her struggling to keep her vehicle on the road.
CK police said an officer on general patrol pulled the woman's vehicle over after seeing her "continuously striking the right curb" on Wellington Street in Chatham shortly before 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Police said the officer conducted a roadside breath test and that the woman was taken to the OPP detachment for further tests.
She was later charged with impaired driving before she was released with conditions and a future court date.
As a result of the charge, the woman's license was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was towed away and was set to be held for seven days.

Driver arrested for DUI after rear-ender crash
A Leamington man will have to hitch a ride with someone else for the next little while after he allegedly rear-ended someone in Chatham.
Police said they were called to the scene at the intersection of Park Avenue and Lacroix Street just before 8:30 p.m. Sunday for a report of a collision and learned that a vehicle that was stopped at a red light had been rear-ended.
Officers said they believed the man whose vehicle hit the stopped car was driving under the influence of alcohol, so he was arrested and given some breath tests after receiving medical attention.
Police said a 23-year-old Leamington man was charged with impaired driving and other offences related to his driving license class before he was released with a future court date.
Officers said the man's license was also suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was towed and was set to be held in an impound lot for seven days.
