Man arrested for approaching victim in domestic case
A 38-year-old Chatham man accused of intimate partner violence is facing two more charges after he allegedly approached the victim twice over the past two months even though he had been ordered to stay away from them.
Police said the man was arrested in the domestic case in July and later released from custody with conditions that banned him from associating with the victim.
Officers arrested him again on Thursday after learning that same day that he had allegedly breached his conditions by trying to engage the victim in conversation on September 18 and October 12.
The man was charged with two counts of breaching a release order and he was taken to police headquarters where he was set to be held pending a bail hearing.
