Chatham woman booked for impaired driving after crash
A 34-year-old Chatham woman is facing a trio of charges after a reported hit-and-run collision in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent police said they were notified of the crash on Grand Avenue East at around 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Police were told that a vehicle was moving erratically through the intersection of Grand Avenue East and St. Clair Street when it hit another vehicle that was heading north.
The driver of the vehicle that caused the collision reportedly left the scene, but witnesses were able to record her license plate and a description for police.
Officers said they found the vehicle on Michener Road and arrested the driver, who was then taken to police headquarters for some impairment tests.
Polices said a 34-year-old Chatham woman was later charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving, and failing to stop after a collision.
She was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Dresden woman booked for bail violation
A 35-year-old Dresden woman is in more trouble with the law after she allegedly called and texted someone she wasn't supposed to communicate with.
Police said they learned that after they got a tip about a bail violation shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Officers said they learned the woman had been communicating with someone she had previously been banned from contacting as a result of her release order, so they arrested the woman once they found her Tuesday afternoon.
She was later released with a future court date.
