Wanted man banned from convenience store walks in anyway

A 48-year-old Wallaceburg man who was wanted by police is facing charges after he allegedly breached his release conditions with an unwanted, unlawful visit to Circle K in Wallaceburg.

Police said they were called to the store on McNaughton Avenue at around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday for an "unwanted male."

Officers said before they arrived, they were told a man who was known to be banned from the store was inside the business.

Police said they reviewed some video surveillance from the store and were able to see the man entering the store and approaching an employee at the cash register before he left.

Officers said not only was the man previously released with conditions that required him to stay away from the store, but he was also wanted for theft, possession of property obtained by crime, and failing to comply with a probation order.

He was taken to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.
