Damage estimated at $250K after garage fire in Blenheim

A garage in Blenheim has been burned down to the studs after a fire broke out overnight.

Chatham-Kent fire officials said crews from Station 18 in Blenheim and Station 14 in Erieau were called to the scene at 112 Maxwell Street shortly after 12 a.m. Friday.

The garage was already "fully engulfed" by the time fire crews arrived, but they were able to quickly put it out before it spread to the attached home.

Fire officials said the homeowners were able to get out of the home safely and no injuries were reported.

The damage was estimated at $250,000 and the cause is considered "undetermined."
