Argument turns into mischief after coffee thrown in car
A Chatham man who was wanted for damaging a vehicle in Chatham during an argument earlier this summer has turned himself in.
Chatham-Kent police said their investigation started on August 25 after they were called in for a domestic disturbance in a driveway on Park Avenue West in Chatham.
Officers learned that a man had thrown coffee onto the radio and dash of the car during an argument and then started kicking the vehicle after he got out, causing some damage to the passenger door.
Police said they couldn't find the man at the time, so they got a warrant for his arrest. He turned himself in at police headquarters just before 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
The man was charged with two counts of mischief and was later released with conditions and a future court date.
