Man faces assault charges

Chatham-Kent police were called to a domestic dispute just before 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The incident happened in Wallaceburg at a Westcourt Boulevard address.

Following an investigation, a 31-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault and assault causing bodily harm.

He was taken to police headquarters and released with a future court date.

Elderly man found

An 86-year-old man from the Durham region was believed to be in the Chatham-Kent area, prompting Durham police to request help from CK officers.

A collaborative effort between the two police services located the missing man near Pain Court.

The senior was transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Vulnerable Persons Registry

The Chatham-Kent Police are reminding citizens of the value of the Vulnerable Persons Registry.

The registry is an online tool that allows caregivers and family members to submit vital information to the police if they feel that someone under their care is at risk due to a physical, medical, or mental health condition. In the event of an emergency, police will have quick access to this vital information allowing officers to respond quickly and effectively. 

The registry provides critical information such as a person’s physical description, routines, medical or special needs, and emergency contact information. Families and caregivers are also encouraged to submit a digital photo, should their loved one get lost or go missing.
