Chatham man arrested for suspected drug-impaired driving

A Chatham man is facing an impaired driving charge after he was allegedly seen slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle.

Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in Chatham on Monday afternoon involving a man who was believed to be driving while under the influence.

When officers arrived, they found a 43-year-old man from Chatham sitting in the driver's seat where he appeared to be drifting in and out of consciousness and allegedly showed signs of impairment.

The man was arrested for impaired driving and during the arrest, police allegedly found various drug-related items on him.

The man was then taken to the police headquarters, where a Qualified Breath Technician and a Drug Recognition Expert conducted a series of tests and assessments. He was charged with drug-impaired driving and was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Chatham man faces impaired driving charges with suspended license

A 24-year-old man from Chatham is under investigation for impaired driving and operating a vehicle with a suspended license on Charing Cross Road and Seventh Line.

Police said a concerned citizen saw the individual leaving an establishment and suspected him of driving under the influence.

Officers arrived at the scene and saw the vehicle driving, leading them to initiate a traffic stop.

Police said they learned that the man's G2 license had been suspended since August 2021.

He was taken to the police headquarters for further breath tests after he allegedly failed a roadside screening test.

As a result of the investigation, the man was charged with impaired driving, being a novice driver with a blood alcohol content above zero, and driving while suspended. The accused was later released with a notice of suspension, conditions, and a future court date.

Criminal charges laid against 18-year-old Wallaceburg man for multiple threats

An 18-year-old male from Wallaceburg is facing six threat-related charges.

Police responded to a complaint concerning an incident in which an 18-year-old man and several other men allegedly made threats of physical assault and bodily harm toward his neighbour.

Police said they were told that the accused was the complainant's neighbor and was unprovoked when he threatened to hurt and cause bodily harm to the complainant numerous times.

Following an investigation, the 18-year-old male was arrested with six counts of uttering threats and was later released with conditions and a future court date.
