Man Arrested for Uttering Threats
A 53-year-old Chatham man has been charged with uttering threats for allegedly threatening to set fire to his backyard.
Chatham-Kent police said a man contacted them on Wednesday just after midnight to report that he had been assaulted and threatened to burn everything in the backyard at the Lacroix Street address in Chatham.
Police noticed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for bail violations connected to a 2021 incident where he was charged with assaulting a police officer, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and possessing weapons for a dangerous purpose.
The man was arrested and was also charged with failing to comply with a court release order.

Man and Woman Arrested for Break and Enter
Break and enter charges have been laid against two people from Wallaceburg following a break-in at a business on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg early Tuesday morning.
Chatham-Kent police said two suspects forced their way into a business by breaking a window just after 5 a.m. and activated the alarm.
They took merchandise from the shelves and left, according to police.
Police said officers recognized the pair from previous interactions after viewing the video surveillance footage.
The 60-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested on Emily Street in Wallaceburg shortly after lunch time.
The 53-year-old Wallaceburg man was taken into custody on Elgin Street in Wallaceburg at around 3 p.m.
