Suspicious activity leads to charges for Wallaceburg woman

A 31-year-old Wallaceburg woman is in more trouble with the law after being located by police at a recently sold house.

Police said they received a tip about some suspicious activity on Emily Street in Wallaceburg just before 9 a.m. on Tuesday.

A vehicle containing three women was in the driveway of a recently sold house while another woman was allegedly attempting to enter the house.

Officers arrived on the scene and located all of the women. However, one of the women was wanted on an outstanding warrant for a probation order violation.  

 The 31-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a probation order.

16-Year-Old Faces Charges for Release Condition Violation

A 16-year-old boy has been accused of violating the conditions of their release.

On May 29, 2023, the young individual was released from custody under several terms. Among these terms was the requirement for the individual to stay within their home every day from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Late Monday night, at approximately 11:40 p.m., police discovered the young person outside their residence and took them into custody.

The 16-year-old youth was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions. He was rereleased with a scheduled court appearance in September.

28-Year-Old Man Found Under the Influence During Routine Police Patrol

Around 2:20 a.m. Tuesday, police were conducting their routine patrol along Fourth Street in Chatham. Police located a 28-year-old man in the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle. Through investigation, officers believed he was driving while under the influence of alcohol.

He was then escorted to the police headquarters, where he underwent breath tests to establish his level of intoxication.

He was charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and was granted his release with a future court date.
