Teen arrested for uttering threats

A 17-year-old from Blenheim was arrested and charged with uttering threats Tuesday.

At 9:18 p.m., police responded to a harassment investigation on Richmond Street in Chatham.

According to police, a distressing message had been posted on Instagram, inciting severe harassment with the intention of driving the victim to commit suicide.

The teen was released from police custody with a court date of September 18.

Tilbury man arrested after missing court date

A 26-year-old Tilbury man was initially arrested by Chatham-Kent police on July 13. At the time, he was charged with indecent acts and criminal harassment.

His court date in relation to those charges was set for Monday, August 14. When he failed to show up for his scheduled appearance, police issued a warrant for his arrest.

Police arrested the man at 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, on Young Street in Tilbury.

The man faces multiple charges including committing an indecent act, failing to attend court, and three counts of criminal harassment.

Three people face drug and weapon charges

Three people were arrested in Wallaceburg following a traffic stop on Lisgar Street.

It was discovered that the female driver had an outstanding warrant from the London Police Service, and one of the male passengers had an outstanding warrant from the Toronto Police Service.

A search of the vehicle found significant quantities of suspected cocaine, fentanyl, Canadian cash, and a gun, police said.

A 26-year-old woman from Chatham, a 25-year-old man from Chatham-Kent, and a 22-year-old man from Scarborough were all charged with possessing a controlled substance for trafficking and unauthorized firearm possession.

Highway traffic stop leads to drug charges

At 2:34 a.m. Wednesday, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle near the 78-Kilometer marker of the westbound Highway 401.

The stop came following a driver's license status notification from the Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system.

The investigating officer determined that the driver's license was suspended, and the driver was arrested without incident.

Following the arrest, police found that the suspect was in possession of a quantity of illicit drugs, suspected to be cocaine, fentanyl, and meth.

A 22-year-old of Chatham faces a number of charges including several drug possession charges, driving while under suspension, and using plates plates not authorized for a vehicle.

Man arrested for assault

Chatham-Kent police responded to a disturbance at a business on Mill Street in Tilbury.

Police arrived on scene at 8:35 p.m. on Tuesday, to find that a man had punched another man and fled.

An officer located the man at his home and arrested him.

A 45-year-old Tilbury man was charged with assault.

He was taken to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of September 18.

Woman arrested for breaching bail conditions

On August 11, a woman was released by the court with conditions including living at a designated address in Blenheim.

On Wednesday, police received information the woman was not abiding by these conditions.

A 26-year-old Blenheim woman was located and arrested by police.

She was charged with failing to comply with a release order.
