Pride Fest in Chatham this weekend

Pride Fest is returning to Chatham-Kent this year with a series of events in downtown Chatham.

A flag-raising at the Civic Centre in Chatham kicked off a week of celebrations on Friday.

That will be followed by the Pride Parade starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

The parade will start at the Civic Centre before moving along King Street over to Sons of Kent.

The celebrations continue from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Sons of Kent with a Charity BBQ put on by the Mental Health Network in support of the Free 2B Me 2SLGBTQIA+ Youth Group.

Vendors from community organizations and businesses will also have their booths on display — family-friendly drag performances featuring Disco Jesus, along with music spun by DJ Vintage.

There will be yard games, water fun, face painting, and a foam machine, courtesy of Platinum Sponsor Mainstreet Credit Union.

You can also participate in a raffle to win Jann Arden or Eddie Izzard tickets, courtesy of Caesar's Windsor & The Colosseum.

You can find a full list of the activities associated with Pride Week in Chatham-Kent on the CK Gay Pride Association's Facebook page.
