Police looking for vehicle after rollover crash on Hwy. 401 in CK

Provincial police are appealing to the public for tips as they try to track down a vehicle that may have been indirectly involved in a rollover crash on the Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.

Ontario Provincial Police with the Chatham Detachment said they were called to the scene near the 69-kilometer marker on the westbound Highway 401 shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 6 after a passenger vehicle rolled over into the centre median of the highway.

Police said there were two people inside the vehicle that rolled over and both of them were taken to a trauma centre with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators said they believe another vehicle, described as "possibly a grey or brown SUV" was indirectly involved in the collision.

OPP would like to speak with the driver of the SUV, anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it, and anyone who may have dashcam footage of the crash.

Anyone with information regarding this incident can contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or online at www.opp.ca/reporting.

You can also submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-84777 (TIPS) or www.stthomas-elgincrimestoppers.ca and you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
