Benefit Gala returns to support Chatham-Kent Hospice

An annual charity gala is returning this fall to support those who call Chatham-Kent Hospice home.

The Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation’s Benefit Gala will take place at The Chatham Armoury on October 20.

Guests will be treated to a gourmet meal prepared by The Chilled Cork and an opportunity to bid in live and silent auctions.

Supporters will also have the chance to win a .50-carat diamond from Mittons Jewellers in Ridgetown.

The gala will also feature the Hospice Heart Story, which will be shared by a local family that has utilized the services of the local hospice.

Proceeds raised through the fundraiser will support the Chatham-Kent Hospice’s 10-bed facility.

Over 60 per cent of the hospice’s annual operating budget is covered by donations.

“[The] gala is a chance for all of us to come together and celebrate the amazing work being done at our hospice day in and day out,” said fundraiser chair Ginny Hawken. “We get to share, remember our loved ones, and ensure Hospice continues to operate at no cost to local families in their time of need.”

Now in its sixth year, the Benefit Gala has raised over $332,000 for Hospice care in Chatham-Kent, including $98,000 in 2022.

To date, the Chatham-Kent Hospice has cared for more than 1,200 local families at no cost. This also includes care coordination as well as grief and bereavement support.

Tickets are limited and are available for $175 per person, including a $50 tax receipt. Get your tickets by calling 519-354-3113 ext. 2300 or online.
