Racist graffiti found in a public school park

Graffiti containing symbols of hate and offensive language have been discovered in the park of McNaughton Ave Public School.

Swastikas were found written on a park bench, alongside offensive phrases, including anti-Semitic and anti-Islamic slurs.

This is not the first time the community has witnessed such displays of racist graffiti. Between June 20, 2023, and June 21, 2023, in the areas of Keil Drive South, Baldoon Road, and Park Avenue West, drawings of swastikas were found on vehicles, business doors, and signs.

The Chatham-Kent (CK) Police Service says it has launched an investigation to identify those responsible.

"We strongly encourage individuals to report such incidents, even if they haven't been reported to the police. We recommend contacting the non-emergency line (519-352-1234) to ensure these incidents are documented and addressed appropriately," police said.
