Police issue warrant for break-in suspect, arrest another

Chatham-Kent police have arrested one suspect and are looking for another after a break-in at a business in Wallaceburg.

Police said the break-in occurred at a business on Nelson Street back on March 17 at around 8:30 a.m.

Officers identified two suspects, a man and a woman, through their investigation.

A 57-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested shortly after the incident and was charged with possession of stolen property.

However, when she allegedly failed to attend court, a warrant was issued for her arrest.

The woman was located and arrested once again on Monday.

Police have also issued a warrant for the arrest of a 38-year-old Chatham-Kent man in connection to the break-and-enter.

He has yet to be located.

Man arrested following ATV theft in Tilbury

A 36-year-old Tilbury man is facing charges after allegedly stealing an ATV from a business in Tilbury.

Police said they responded to a report about a stolen vehicle at a business on Queen Street North in Tilbury just after 12:20 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The suspect was captured on surveillance footage, along with footage from earlier in the day, which helped officers identify the suspect.

Police said the suspect was spotted driving on Lyon Street in Tilbury just before 2:30 a.m.

Officers stopped the suspect and arrested him.

During the arrest, police said the suspect provided the officer with the stolen vehicle's location, which was found near Thamesville.

Police said they also learned that the suspect was prohibited from operating a motor vehicle.

The 36-year-old Tilbury man was charged with driving while prohibited, theft over $5000, and possessing stolen property.

He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions pending a future court date.
