Man, woman both arrested after a night out turned into a violent argument
A 48-year-old Walpole Island man and a 41-year-old Wallaceburg woman are both facing charges after police were called to investigate a report of domestic violence in Wallaceburg.
Police said they got the call shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday and were told by a man that his ex-girlfriend had assaulted him.
When police arrived, they found the man and the woman together and also learned that the man was bound by a release condition that required him to stay away from that specific woman.
He was arrested for breaching a release order and police later learned that the woman had allowed the man inside the home.
Police said they also learned that the couple had allegedly spent a night out before they got into an argument that escalated to the point where the woman hit the man several times.
A 48-year-old Walpole Island man was charged with two counts of failing to comply with a release order and a 41-year-old Wallaceburg woman was charged with one count of assault and two counts of facilitating a breach of conditions.
Both of the accused were taken to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Police find suspected cocaine on man after report of a gas leak
A tip about a possible gas leak ended with a drug-related arrest in Wallaceburg Thursday afternoon.
Chatham-Kent police said they were called to a home on Elgin Street for a well-being check after a man was "uncooperative" while emergency crews were investigating a report of a possible gas leak at the residence.
Police said the man was arrested for breaching the peace and when they searched him, they allegedly found a large amount of suspected cocaine in his possession.
Officers said a 49-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of distributing it.
He was later released with a future court date.

Wanted man found under a tree
Chatham-Kent police managed to track down a wanted man in Chatham Thursday evening when they followed up on a call about someone who appeared to be unconscious under a tree.
Police said that was in the area of Wellington Street in Chatham shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday.
Officers were able to find a man there who they confirmed was wanted in connection with a mischief incident on July 24.
The man was arrested, charged, and later released with conditions and a future court date.
